KOTE 2017 Cancelled

Thanks to everyone who contacted us this year to submit work and participate in Kingston On The Edge Urban Arts Festival. It’s really heartwarming to feel the support and the desire from you to be a part of something special in Kingston. The staging of KOTE is a large undertaking and can be difficult given that it is a 10 day studio and performing art festival held at over 26 venues throughout Kingston with hundreds of artists participating.

This year KOTE Milestones would have been our 10th anniversary however unfortunately given a combination of factors and unforseen circumstances including not least of all the financial strain of the festival, we have been forced to cancel KOTE 2017.

We continue to have a strong belief in the Festival and its objectives including to show that art can be appreciated by anyone irrespective of background and that art can be a tool for positive change in our society. KOTE is a celebration of creativity and we want everyone to feel that they can be a part of art. We look forward to the possibilities for KOTE 2018.

See you next year,
KOTE Organizing Committee

In a city that was listed 31st most dangerous city in the world in 2008, KOTE hopes that through innovative visual and performing art we will be able to, “signal to the broader culture that there is an appreciation for the Jamaica that is extraordinary”.
